P/T Ports (sometimes known as Pete’s Plugs or test plugs) provide a low-cost alternative to inline measurement of pressure or temperature. Available from TTP Texas in brass or 300 series.
Test plugs are versatile pressure and temperature (P/T) test ports used across a wide range of industries. They are most commonly applied in natural gas systems, hydronic HVAC (hot and chilled water), and plumbing applications to obtain quick, reliable readings on equipment such as boilers, pumps, balancing valves, heat exchangers, and gas meters. Test plugs are also widely used in hospitals, breweries, and other facilities for testing a variety of liquids and gases.
Test ports are permanently installed in fluid lines at recommended test points. A self-sealing valve is located in the center of the port. Pressure readings can be taken by inserting a needle attached to a pressure through the valve. Once the readings are taken, the gauge and needle are removed.
